Let's Rock ‘n’ Roll!
Bringing the BEST classic ROCK to you LIVE!
THE BAND
With each of the members spending their lives living on both coasts, Tachy Phylanges was born when these attitudes joined forces. Like all great things, what came to be is not what once was. The rock groove embodied and expressed by each Phalanx began with acoustic instruments, campfires, and Irish folk music. As the guitars added a bass, drums naturally followed. When the sound got louder and the instruments went electric, rock and roll took charge.
TACHY PHYLANGES provides audiences with their takes and tributes to the idols and influences who have touched every rock lover. Spanning over 60 years of brilliant rock and roll, the Tachy Phylanges catalog will give you reasons to dance, sing, and get your groove on.
TACHY PHYLANGES IS
Steve Jeffers (Percussion)
Dug up from the sands of Huntington Beach, Steve is the opposable thumb that makes the Phylanges work. A founding member of world famous The Squids (not the ones from South Korea), Steve became the second, seventh, and tenth drummer of Spinal Tap (technically- he jumped in and finished the show after the first guy spontaneously combusted). He was found wandering the streets of Sacramento keeping perfect time, with style.
Danton Kono (Guitar/Vocals)
Growing up riding the waves of Santa Cruz, Danton always saw himself on stage with a guitar in hand. Med school in NY interfered with record deals and world tours, but it’s where two Californian Dead Heads found a way to escape their professional pursuits, together, guitars in hand. The chemistry between them in their playing is palpable, and Danton’s laidback style is true to his roots, brah.
Pete Skaff (Guitar/Vocals)
Sprouted in the fields of the California Central Valley, Pete was born to heal. His education took him from San Diego to NY to the Sonoran Desert, before settling in the Sierra Piedmont, exposing him to the bounty of American life and culture. While he’s a well respected physician, he knows the most powerful medicine is delivered musically. His guitar playing has only one known side effect: possible face-melting. It’s a good thing he’s got the other training.
Chris Toy (Bass)
A dreamer from the Sacramento area, Chris always wanted to be a rock star. When his mom wouldn’t let him buy a drum set, he spent his summer earnings and bought a Fender Strat. With much determination and very little talent, he took to playing that guitar in bands in both Boston and Sacramento, only to one day discover that he is actually a bass player (Epico!). His funk led to an ill-advised partnership with Ban Roll On.
We’re out to have a good time, and that means the fun is for all.
